I think the poster has the opinion that a Company registered under the Companies Act has a special status as an employer. As rightly observed by Mr.Nathrao job mobility is a normal feature of employment subject to reasonable restrictions,if any imposed by the contract of employment. Therefore, the constitution of the employer's organization such as Private Limited or Public Limited Company, L.L.P, Partnership, Sole Proprietorship, Public Sector or Private Sector and the like does not curtail the freedom of any of its employee's to switch the jobs.

Dear colleague,
Under normal circumstances, no restriction can placed on you unless you have signed any bond or nondisclosure agreement which stops you from joining the competitor within stipulated period of leaving and the public limited company you wish to join happens to be the competitor .
