Dear Srijhanavi,

What is the nature of your query? There is no difference between the heading and the main body of your post. What do you mean by "pdf"?

Would you like to prepare a list of the duties and display it at the place where guards do their duty? If yes, then you need to divide the list into two parts: one common duty and another specific to the shift, such as the morning shift, night shift, etc. Secondly, the list needs to be published in a language understandable to the guards. Lastly, the list should not be visible to the visitors.

Lastly, once again about your query. There is nothing wrong with raising a query about security guards, but other members should feel that it has been raised by a professional and not by a security guard!

Thanks,

Gate duties for supervisors and guards can be prepared based on the exact purpose of the gate. It may seem absurd, but let us understand the basics of why the gate is needed. Who is allowed, and who is not? What materials/vehicles are permitted? What is the procedure for allowing employees, visitors, guests, materials, and vehicles, including their types, etc.?

The company must have a policy on these aspects. How should the gate be operated? What type of gate is it - manually operated, automatic machine-operated, RFID operated, etc.? Is the gate equipped with visitor management software? The idea behind this is that you should frame the duties and responsibilities based on the company's security policy. You can seek help from seniors in this regard. Hope you have gained some insight.

Dear All,

As per the Mumbai & Thane Security Guard Board Notification (Attached), a 1% levy on wages (Basic + DA) is required to be paid for Paid Holidays. This levy is for which holidays? How is it calculated against holidays with respect to wages?

If the Principal Employer is paying this levy to the Security Agency every month, does he require to make any other payment to the security agency for the duties carried out on National Holidays, i.e., 02 Oct? (Ref. - Shops and Establishment Act)

If yes, how much and what will be the breakup?

The levy for a national holiday is being added to the overall levy amount paid, applicable to registered security guards. However, it's the amount on account of the national holiday. Furthermore, if a guard works on that national holiday, he is to be paid for that day as if it were a normal workday.
