Dear Sir/Ma'am,

Can anybody explain to me about Workmen's compensation policy insurance? One of our contract employees is covered under ESIC, but should he also be covered under Workmen's compensation policy insurance, or is ESIC sufficient?

Thank you.

If an employee is covered under ESIC, the liability of employment injury is covered. As such there is no need to cover them again under Employee compensation policy.

Once an employee is covered under ESI, the Employees' Compensation Act is not applicable. B.Saikumar HR & Labour Relations Adviser Navi Mumbai
