We have created a UAN for our employee and shared it with them to proceed with the activation process. However, during this process, our employee encountered an issue—an error stating that the member's name does not match the available data.

This is a much-needed facility that has been instituted by EPFO. As per EPFO, the complete setup has not yet been rolled out; they have intimated it will take some more time. A screenshot of an email I had sent to EPFO and their response is attached for reference. Once it goes live, it will help resolve lots of such pending issues.

Dear All,
The option of "DETAILS CHANGE REQUEST" is available in the Employer interface of the Unified Portal from today. Now, the EPFO dealing clerk will approve the same, and thereafter RC 1 will approve the cases for DOB changes, and the changes will be effected.

Dear Kiran,
We too had such cases in our organization. Just check the name provided under UAN in your ECR challan returns. "Name as per UAN Repository." For example, some had "MR." included in their names, full name mentioned instead of short name. Also, there will be a space between names. Hope this resolves the issue.
