Confirmation or probation are internal matters of the organization; PF, however, is funded by the government. Every employee with a basic salary of less than 15000/- in a company with 20 or more employees needs to be covered under PF.

Dear Mr. Chopra,
The EPF & MP Act recognizes the status of an employee only. The Act has not given any weightage to the employment status of the employee, whether it is casual, probationary, or permanent/confirmed. In every case, PF is supposed to be contributed by both the employer and the employee subject to coverage.
