Finally, the Maternity Benefit Amendment Bill, 2016 has been assented to by our honorable President, and it has now become the Maternity Benefit Amendment Act, 2017. However, the effective date is yet to be declared by the Central Government.

Logically amendment is effective the day when President signs on it unless it is specifically mentioned.

Effective date for all amendment to the maternity benefit Act is 1.4.2017,except crèche which is from 1.7 2017.
