There is legislation known as the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976. Section 4 states, "No discrimination should be made in remuneration for the same work or work of a similar nature only on the ground of gender."

Section 5 further elaborates that the Act also prohibits gender-based discrimination in recruitment for the same work or work of a similar nature, as well as in any conditions of service following recruitment, such as promotions, training, or transfers.

Keeping this in mind, I believe you can proceed accordingly.
