Currently we have 20 employees including security (on contract employees). We are planning to split our operations into 2 companies. The company under which i am currently running operations will now have only 7-8 employees. Do I still need to continue paying them PF

IF once the company is enrolled to any statutory such as ESI/EPF then even if number of employees reduces as you mentioned 7-8 yes it mandatory to continue. Even if 1 employee still these enrollments shall be continued
