Hi Cite HR,
I am Parveen Kr Sharma, and I have 6 months of experience as a recruiter (domestic hiring). Currently, I am working for a US staffing firm as a recruiter. However, in an IT firm, the recruitment department is separate from the HR department. Would this US staffing experience be considered as HR experience? I am looking to pursue a career in HR and would appreciate your guidance on this matter.
Please help me.

Hi Praveen,
I think you should look long-term. If you have good communication skills, the ability to understand others' viewpoints, and convincing skills, then you should opt for a consultant role in Oracle Apps HRMS functional side. ERP jobs are always among the top-paying roles, so you can have a good future here. Also, as Oracle HRMS is popular in the Middle East, you can consider working abroad too.
Since you are currently in an IT firm, it will be easy for you to switch to Oracle Apps HRMS. There are ways to get trained in this field, and one of the good training institutes is Educrafters Training Academy in Pune. You can visit www.educrafterstrainingacademy.com or email info@educrafterstrainingacademy.com.

Hi Praveen,
A little clarification please...
You were working as a Domestic Recruiter previously. Now you are working as a US Recruiter. Both experiences are (I believe from your post) in consultancy/staffing agency.
Your concern on IT firms having separate HR and Staffing teams. Usually these days, many companies have diversified their HR teams as follows -
Recruiting specialist
L&D Officer/Training specialist
Employee Engagement Team
Performance Appraisal Team
and so forth.
Now the main task of HR is to hire the right talent. The technical aspects are taken care of by the department heads, but talent sourcing is crucial. Many companies outsource this to staffing agencies or have a dedicated recruitment team. Other HR team members handle different responsibilities.
I hope this clarifies to some extent how HR departments work these days. Regarding your wish to make a career in HR domain, can you be a little more specific about where your interest lies? HR entails various responsibilities. Considering your experience level, for recruitment, both your work experiences will be considered. For other roles, you may be viewed as a fresher.
I hope I have addressed your query.
Thank you.
