Dear All,

Good day,

I want to know about long-term settlement procedures between management and the Union, and what rules and regulations need to be followed during the settlement.

Best regards,

Question is not clear.

Long-term settlement is a process that involves what is called Collective Bargaining between management and the Union or a representative committee. Settlement can be signed under Sec 18(1) of the Industrial Disputes Act without going to the Government. It can also be signed before a Labour Officer under Sec 12(3) of the Industrial Disputes Act. Be specific if you want more information.

Thanks

The duration of collective bargaining agreements is not more than three years. If either party violates, in most cases they do, then the agreement fails. However, in most cases, the matter is adjudicated by conciliation without wasting the time of the courts/management/union.
