Hi,
I have a friend who has done a mistake .. He is an architect. He got an offer letter from a very reputed architecture firm. He was asked to join asap. Previously he was working with a company from where they were not giving him his relieving letter and was creating problems. He was really pissed off and he desperately wanted to switch. He had some financial issues too due to which he had to take the step of making a fake relieving letter and fake signs. Now in his present company they got to know about this and asked him to leave. Took his documents.
Please let me know what are the consequences and how to deal with it.

The only way out is a humble apology and quiet departure. Forgery is an offence under IPC and consequences can be there,if not handled very tactfully and apologetically.

Dear Nivedita,
Ask your friend to quiet the job. ...search another one and this time don't lie with the company. If you are applying or joining any reputed firm then they have contacts for background verification also now companies were sending direct e-mail to HRD for verification of Employee. Even I am also using direct contact method in my company for employee verification.
So, either make good relations with HR or tell the truth at the time of interview to get the job .
All the best .

Dear Nivedita,
Your friend has committed acts of forgery , he must consider his current employer to be very "large-hearted" if he is released
without registering any case. He must remember that short-cuts lead to painful situations and have an impact in the future
job prospects.
He must own up everything to his current employer & remember this experience throughout his life.
Take care,
