Dear Seniors, I have gone through many posts on CiteHR and found them very informative. I want to ask for some help. Can anybody please explain the Leave Rules for a manufacturing plant? How many PL can an employee take at a time? What is the minimum number of PL allowed at a time?
Thanks in advance.

PSPHR: Leave policies differ from plant to plant. You also need to study the state’s local labor laws.

Leave Calculation Query
Please suggest to me if an employee has a 10-day EL leave balance and was on leave from 01.11.14 to 09.11.14 for 9 days, during which 2 Sundays occurred.
Procedure for EL Calculation
A. Are his Sundays converted into leave or not?
B. Or should Sundays not be considered as absent days?
Please advise.

In particular, for Earned Leave (EL), prefixes and suffixes can be treated as permissions. If the prefix is Sunday, the leave starts on Monday and is ultimately not to be treated as EL. However, if earned leave ends on Monday, the prefix Sunday is to be treated as EL, and there is no permission. If the earned leave ends on Saturday, the next suffix Sunday will be a permission, and Monday will resume as a usual working day. Plainly speaking, leave taken between two Sundays can be availed, and Saturday's admissibility follows the factory rules or departmental procedures. In between, there will be no permissions.

The prefix and suffix of Sundays in respect of PL or EL are to be excluded from the leave period, i.e., intervening the Weekly Holidays (Sundays). This practice is applicable only in the case of PL or EL and does not apply in the case of CL and SL.
