Dear Vignesh,

There is no rule for the number of days to be worked in order to acquire a Service Certificate. It depends from organisation to organisation. Some organisations do not issue them if an employee has been asked to leave on account of any act of misconduct or if he leaves before completion of a minimum of six months of service or if he is not confirmed. As a matter of right, every employee who leaves for good and is relieved should receive a service certificate. In case the company cannot issue a service certificate for whatsoever reasons, they should provide a copy of final settlement dues mentioning his date of joining, designation, and date of leaving which can act as proof of his employment with them.

One day working also counted as a service. No issue in issuing service certificate. Pon

Dear Vignesh,

The criteria for issuing service certificates vary from organization to organization. It all depends on the probation, service rendered, the time the employee takes to adjust to the organization, their values, and organizational commitments. However, a service certificate cannot be issued for one day or before completing the probation period as no manager can assess the reliability and work efficiency in such a short time. They issue service certificates in an organization with the best wishes for the future endeavors.

Best Wishes...

Dear Vignesh,

There is no criteria for issuing the service certificate. Whoever may have worked for the company, regardless of being casual, on probation, or permanent, when the employee is leaving, it is the employer's duty to issue the service certificate irrespective of the services rendered to the company.
