The company is not in a position to hire them as permanent workers, yet they still need to meet the daily requirements of the customers. Please suggest some ideas so that I can conduct my research project effectively and provide valuable information to the organization.

First, you need to mention the nature, whether it is engineering or FMCG. Please arrange a small get-together within your office premises on the weekend and be friendly with all the existing apprentice workers. Discuss their problems/difficulties, then consult with your management to overcome those issues by providing additional facilities/benefits to them. Generally, the attrition rate rises in manufacturing companies due to work pressure, continuous shifts without proper rest, and dumping of responsibilities. Try to explain to them that whatever they learn in your company will be helpful for their career development.

Karan, the employer, is in a position to supply a certain number of car products to an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) with the help of "x" employees (apprentices). A tool needs to be prepared to track daily utilization. The major issue is that the employees do not show up for work at all. How can they be motivated to come to work regularly?

Dear Karthik,
You can hire EPP in place of APP for a 6-month basis. OT is not applicable to APP, but in the case of EPP, OT is applicable.
OR
Involve APP's in some welfare activities or some motivational activities or introduce a new incentive program for themselves. This will definitely increase your productivity.
Note: You can hire EPP's only for 6 Months.

Hello, I see there are TWO big issues here.
1. Attrition
There are some good responses by others on this issue. I would just add that attrition has a lot to do with the company culture, role, career path, and performance management system. If you can have all these in place, attrition should decrease to a great extent.
2. Productivity
Productivity is a complex issue. There should not be any difference between the productivity of permanent and temporary employees. There is a need to review your processes and methods and make them simple and less skill-dependent. This is a specialized area beyond the capabilities of HR. If you would like, I can visit your factory free of charge and set the process of work simplification rolling. I have trained many workplace teams to achieve productivity improvement with work systems design and improvement. Please let me know.
