Hi Seniors,

I am working in a small-scale company as an HR with 5 years of prior experience in the Operations field. My qualification is M.Com. I want to know if I switch to a big company, can I apply for an HR position, or should a candidate hold an MBA-HR degree to apply for the same? I believe I can perform all HR-related tasks with the same efficiency as an MBA graduate. However, I question whether an MBA degree is the sole criteria to assess someone's capability and knowledge. Your valuable inputs on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Regards.

Dear Ruchika,
Good question raised by you. See nowadays, HR field is very vast and the persons who are handling that job must be familiar with local and central laws. Yes it is true that by virtue of time slowly and gradually you will sure have the thorough knowledge of HR field but at the same time it is necessity that you must have the Visa to enter in the field and that Visa means the Degree. Here I m not telling that without degree you can’t do HR work but yes it necessary to compete in today’s scenario of globalization you must have various aspects of your job profiles.
Secondly I also here give you advise to gain more and more knowledge of HR field by reading and put it in implementation.
