I want to know about the rules in the Minimum Wages Act. Will there be any problem if we pay contract labor more than the minimum wage set by the government?
For example, if the minimum wage for an unskilled laborer is ₹255, and we paid ₹270, would this cause any issues?

Therefore, anything higher than the minimum wages is always better and will not have any statutory issues. However, under a contract, it will be the responsibility of the principal employer to ensure that whatever wages are fixed, they are disbursed by the contractors.

there is no need to worry if you pay more wages then the prescribed minimum wages. The problem only persists when the Minimum wages are paid less then the prescribed. P.Venugopal Reddy
