Hi, I am working in an MNC company. My superior forced me to resign from the job, and he has tarnished my reputation with the dealers I handle. They are also withholding my travel claims and last month's salary without providing any information. When I discussed this with the HR person, he simply stated that my resignation is required, and if I do not resign voluntarily, they will terminate my employment. I am seeking advice on how to address and resolve this situation.

Manager in the pharma sector handling a team of 5 teammates. There is one line in the annexure in the appointment letter:

10. Liaison with the head office regarding the recruitment of field staff.

11. Responsible for monitoring the field staff for their achievement of sales targets and better productivity through objective appraisal of their performance.

Is the above part of the employee's role considered a supervisory role, hence, they cannot file a case in the labor court? Please guide.

I think it is nothing but an ego tussle. What you have to do here is calm down and think about how to solve the problem. You can talk to HR or maybe some authority in your organization, and you can change the team, work with a different manager. You can talk to him on a personal level and ask what the problem is, try to build rapport with him. If nothing is working out, then you do not have any other option but to look for another job. All the best!

This is a very common and normal issue in almost every organization. It usually occurs when a subordinate is more competent than a senior. When you are more competent or a hard worker, your senior's job is at stake. This problem becomes more acute when a junior is acclaimed or praised by senior management.

I, too, have lost a good job in the same way. When I improved my qualifications, it set off alarm bells in the mind of my department head. The ego problem became more severe when a party, who had not released a payment after two visits from my boss, finally released the payment when I handled the issue.

As a result, harassment began, and I had to resign because harassment affects your behavior, resulting in disturbances in your work performance and false accusations. This type of harassment leaves no trail that can help you fight it. In cases of such agony, one is left with no choice but to resign. Otherwise, it is not difficult for management to fabricate false accusations.
