My thoughts on the subject are:

An organization achieves its business goals through its people only. Globalization brought in its wake competition to the business in respect of the quality of services and goods, as well as transnational employment opportunities and widening employment market within India. This led to new challenges to HR in the form of workplace diversity, looking for core competencies at the time of hiring, developing cutting-edge competencies in the existing staff, and the problem of retention of talent. In the process of dealing with the challenges, the HR evolved in being innovative in introducing various initiatives to retain talent like employee engagement, rewards and retention, learning and development, and in acting as a change agent in building a value-based culture and in assuming a leadership role in achieving business goals by aligning employees' core competencies and performance to business goals. Thus, HR is on the path of evolving itself as a strategic partner in the business.

Globalization has to be catered for in the design of HR software products to enable organizations to manage people operating from multiple locations, to be paid in different currencies, with widely varying parameters related to local compliance. This includes catering to time management as per the global differences, enabling leave and holidays management as applicable to different units/locations, managing data in multiple languages, and yet providing a centralized database for corporate controls without limiting independence through distributed processing.

The use of the right technology to manage HR in an environment of mergers and acquisitions, for a global reach, is tending to be an important need. 'EmpXtrack' is a modern tool designed to meet the requirements of online operations of HR in a global environment and is available both on the cloud and in a perpetual mode, as per the requirements of an organization.

While exploring other important aspects such as cultural integration of people, the experts may not ignore the focus on systems and processes and the need to manage the same with state-of-the-art technology.
