Dear Mr. Amar Bir Singh,

It is nice to see a presentation from your side after quite a while.

I wish to add my comments linked to slide nos. 3 and 5.

In slide no. 3, it is mentioned that only those bosses who pushed are remembered as effective. I feel concern for people is equally important.

A popular email was circulated a few years ago. It is about a superior who always pushed his colleagues to get results. One day, a junior colleague promises his wife that he would come home early and take all the family members to the local fair. On the same day, his superior asks him to stay back and complete an assignment. The junior colleague makes a polite request and seeks permission to go home early. The superior asks the reason and denies permission. He is forced to stay back and complete his task. When he returns home late, he comes to know that his boss had come in the evening and taken all the family members to the fair! The boss was none other than our Honourable Ex-President Mr. Abdul Kalam!!!

Concern for people is very important, and I hope you would like to include it.

I have also attached a version of the Blake and Moulton model published 50 years ago, and it is holding good even today.

Thanks to Dear Vipin and Raghu,

Raghu, due to my extremely busy schedule nowadays, I am not able to visit and contribute regularly. It is nice to hear from you after a long time, and thanks for your value addition. Since this is a forum of mutual learning, I welcome suggestions on improvements from all my learned friends. Raghu, thanks to you for sharing the slide on the managerial grid.

Dear Amar Bir Singh,

I have read this content as an article from the site "Managers are Heroes," which was posted by Mike Brown, the author (give the devil its due!). In fact, there are 19 points that are very interesting and practical. I would like to share the PDF version of the entire article for everybody's benefit.

Regards,
Sowmini.
