Navigating Notice Period Issue: Advice on Termination Clause and Joining Date - CiteHR

No Tags Found!

Hi All, I am Subhash. I have received an offer from an MNC to join in 30 days, and I have accepted that offer. I informed HR that I will try to reduce my notice period to 30 days. Currently, my company has a 45-day notice period. In my current organization, I have made every effort to convince my Manager and Team Lead to release me in 30 days by explaining the true picture of my new opportunity. However, they insist that I must serve the full notice period as per company rules.

After two weeks, my Team Lead sent me an email stating that I am required to serve the full 45-day notice period. I promptly forwarded this conversation to the HR of the new company. The HR representative replied that they cannot extend my joining date.

Could someone please advise me on what steps I should take now?

Thanks & regards, Subhash G

Please check the Notice Period in the Termination Clause of your Appointment Letter to determine if you have the option to buy back the Notice Period. Please inform the senior management of the details of your Termination Clause so that appropriate advice can be provided.
