Hi all, I am currently facing an issue with recruitment in the F&B industry. I need some ideas on where I can reach a large pool of candidates as my management is not willing to allocate any resources to purchase online job postings. Additionally, I am not allowed to advertise on the bus stop or place bunting in some public transport areas as we are a high-end F&B establishment, and doing so might contradict our brand image.

I am currently working on social media recruiting but it takes time to build a pool of candidates. We urgently need to fill more than 20 positions. What can I do now to fill most of the vacancies and buy myself time to work on other recruitment ideas?

You need to hire people for which location? Maybe you can ask your management to tie up with some recruitment companies to assist you in filling those vacancies.

We too are a recruitment company, and you may contact us for any assistance.

It's Quite Simple...

Just go for campus recruitment and tie up with an institution; they will bear expenses for this. No need to pay a single penny. It will be an institution's privilege that a company is visiting their campus.

Dear sir, The best place to search specialized skills is Linked in site.Another important place is the nearby colleges/Institutes conducting classes. You can also go for Campus interview.

Dear Cyril87,

You can try to fill vacant positions through employee referrals, LinkedIn, or Citehr. Campus selection is also a helpful method where you do not have to spend money, and you will find new, young, and energetic individuals who can help the organization achieve its goals.

I assume the positions are in Malaysia. If it was India, I would have put you in touch with people who can help. "Your" sounds like a fast-food chain. Getting managers from India is not an option there. I assume freshers from college are also not there as they can't be managers. I doubt if your management will agree to pay recruitment company fees if they are not giving you money for recruitment databases.

You need to come up with options that will get the attention of your target audience:

1. See if your management will allow a "managers wanted" poster in your restaurant frontage and in places in the mall where you are located.

2. Put notices in trade magazines that are read by restaurant managers.

3. Check which sites these potential managers visit and put up adverts/notices/posts on them.

4. LinkedIn may help, mainly because they have cheap adverts costing as little as $50 and very specific targeting.

5. Speak to the operation heads of other restaurants you know and headhunt with their help. Many times they will have a candidate who is good but they can't place internally for various reasons.

6. Speak also to the persons who are involved in trade exhibitions related to your industry, with kitchen equipment vendors, and others in that area who will be able to give references of people you can headhunt.

I can't give you better options since I am not fully acquainted with your industry. But from the above, you can think up other options.
