Dear All, Kindly suggest whether computer-generated register copies are accepted by labor officers or not.
Acceptance of Computer-Generated Register Copies
In brief, if we maintain all Labor Registers under the Bombay Shop & Establishment Act as computer-generated copies and take a print of the same, which is duly signed by all employees in our engineering company, can it be accepted by the Labor Officer? Or do we need to create manual registers with handwritten copies, which are normally inspected by the officers, as it is not possible to maintain them on a yearly basis for an employee strength of almost 2-3 thousand.

You've raised a serious problem that almost all companies are facing. Recently, I finished the labor inspection held at my company, and to my surprise, they did not accept the soft copies generated from software. I do not understand why, but in such an era, laws should support digital documentation.
