One employee appointed, and at that time, the Pay plus DA is less than 15000/-, and he is enrolled under EPF. Subsequently, in subsequent years, by increment and revision on DA rates by the Tamil Nadu Government, he reached more than 15000/-, for example, Rs. 20000/-. In that case, the employee is paying 12% subscription = 2400/-. The management has to pay Rs. 2400/- or Rs. 1800/- within the ceiling of Rs. 15000/-. How to prepare ECR challan in such a case. Kindly issue suggestions in this regard.

The employer need not pay the same amount that the employee contributes, but the employer can restrict their contribution to 12% of Rs 15,000, i.e., Rs 1,800. When preparing the ECR, you can input Rs 20,000 under EPF salary and Rs 15,000 under EPS salary. Obviously, under EDLI, the same Rs 15,000 should be entered.
