Hi seniors,

In my organization, we are planning to adjust one of our employees' salaries to observe their performance and then reevaluate their salary. Could anyone please help me with the appropriate letter format?

Dear Loveden,

Drafting skills are necessary for any manager, whether he/she is an HR Manager or otherwise. Please prepare the letter and upload it here. Some seniors, like me, will revise it.

Before you make a draft, I recommend you go through the following previous posts: https://www.citehr.com/84507-decreas...-demotion.html https://www.citehr.com/251201-demotion.html

Dear Gaytri,

Sending a draft of a degradation letter is a secondary issue. You cannot decrease someone's salary at any cost. However, you can stop an increment due to poor performance. At the same time, legally, you cannot decrease salary due to poor performance. You can remove an individual due to poor performance after completing formalities, but salary cannot be reduced.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Malik JS,

We always have a salary structure for the employees. In this structure, the basic salary generally accounts for 40% to 50% of the gross salary. Now, suppose we keep the basic salary the same but reduce the gross salary, is it acceptable? Can you please clarify?

Regards,
