Dear HR Professionals,
Two years ago, I walked out of Infosys after three years of hard work I put in. I left without going through formal relieving procedures due to the humiliation I suffered under the management, which was not the case for the entire duration of my time there. I felt I was not supposed to be treated that way and couldn't handle it, so I walked out.
After two years of taking on various odd jobs to make ends meet, I finally received two lucrative IT job offers from Inautix and TCS, which would surely help me get back on track. However, since I do not have a relieving letter from Infosys, they are unable to hire me. I have been honest with them, providing all the necessary information without any deception, including explaining my gap in employment. Nevertheless, they have informed me that they cannot proceed with my employment.
I returned to Infosys HR, explained my situation, admitted my mistake, and apologized for leaving without a formal exit process. Despite my efforts to make amends, they have not been willing to accommodate my request. I am at a loss on how to proceed further. My family does not have the financial means to support my pursuit of higher education, nor can I solely rely on my current income.
I am seeking guidance from experienced professionals who could offer valuable advice to help me out in this situation. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,

Infosys is a reputed organization in India. They may not provide you with a relieving letter as your case is 2 years old, and you did not complete the exit formalities. You can request a Service Certificate, which they are obligated to provide upon your request. Talk to your new employer to consider the service certificate in lieu of the relieving letter.

I support Pon's view; however, there are a few things to be clarified. Did you send them a formal resignation letter later? Or have they sent you any communication regarding your absence, job continuity, or a termination letter on account of long absence?
There is a way out of this situation. Speak to their HR and close the case.
Wish you all the best!

Hi Pon/Zakir,
They have sent me a letter asking to appear as soon as I left the company, but I moved out of the place. I have been talking to the HR at Infosys who is dealing with the relieving letters. I've been persistent with him to let me have a relieving letter, but he is firm that the policies do not allow it. I've asked him to at least issue me a service certificate, but he says he doesn't have that power and none of the exit documents would be handed over to me as per the process, he says.
I've point-blank apologized for my actions, admitted it was immature on my part, and expressed that my life would go down the drain. However, he is adamant that he cannot help. I am being truthful and have explained this situation to my new employers, providing them with the correct dates and information, but they keep insisting that I produce the relieving letter. I am resisting all forms of encouragement to provide incorrect data or information, and now no one recognizes that. It is challenging for me to go through this. Please suggest.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The information provided is partially correct. While Infosys should provide a Service Certificate, it may not be a substitute for a relieving letter. A relieving letter is crucial for background verification. Encourage reaching out to Infosys HR again for resolution.
