Firstly, the Cost to Company (CTC) must be decided upon, with 40%, 45%, 50%, or even a maximum of 60% that can be allocated as basic salary.
If an employee has to be paid Provident Fund (PF), the basic salary must be between ₹4000 and ₹6500. Anything above ₹6500 gives the employee the choice to opt for PF or not.
House Rent Allowance (HRA) is set at 50% for Metro cities and 40% for other cities.
The cost of PF is divided between the employee and the employer, with both contributing 12%. Additionally, the employer bears the administrative charges of 1.4%.
