Yes, unfortunately, it can happen, but it may bring disharmony and dissatisfaction among employees and within the peer group. It is a sad thing that happens in many organizations, especially BPOs, where without any formal training or knowledge about HR, people are asked to take over HR's role. They have to deal with associates on a daily basis and provide solutions to their problems.

The Understated Role of HR

Sadly, HR is the most understated department or function, which everyone feels can be handled if you are people-oriented and want to work with people. You can be good, partly which may be right, but HR is much more than this. There are theories, systems, metrics, and approaches that many HR professionals are not aware of, and as a result, HR fails in the company.

Most of the members have posted their opinions, and in my view, I agree with Mr. Archna. However, I want to present a unique suggestion. As you said, a person with ZERO KNOWLEDGE. But have you ever tried to test his CONFIDENCE LEVEL, CAPABILITIES, AND ABILITIES to handle the HR DEPARTMENT?

Knowledge Comes with Experience

It is gained as time passes by. Let me know more about the person whom you are referring to. Please study more about him and explore his talents, skills, etc.

Hope you will be able to answer your query if you follow my suggestion. BUT DON'T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED.

With profound regards
