Hi all,
I have completed B.Tech (CSE) and have 2 years of experience in Java. Currently, I am pursuing my final year of MBA with a major in finance and a minor in marketing. I would like to know which SAP module is the best for me to learn.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks and regards,
Rajeev

Dear Rajeev,
Firstly, in which field (IT, Finance, Marketing) are you planning to set up your career? The reason behind this inquiry is that there will be a lot of comments, but your interest is what truly matters. Below are the relevant modules for each field:
- IT: BASIS, ABAP & PS
- Finance: FICO/FI
- Marketing: SD, MM & BI
I recommend checking the web for any upgraded or updated modules. Anyway, all the best!

Hi Rajeev,
I would suggest that you equip yourself with more domain experience before transitioning to the core SAP industry. It is necessary once you become a certified consultant, as your domain knowledge will be tested when interacting with clients. Without strong domain experience and knowledge, it is a common trend in the IT industry for people to either be on the bench or switch companies.
Regarding your query and domain, I am listing all the combinations of domains and relevant SAP modules below:
- BE in Electronics: SAP BASIS, ABAP
- MCA, IT background: BASIS, ABAP, XI, NetWeaver
- BE in Mechanical: SAP MM, PP, QM, PS
- BE in Electronics: SAP BASIS, ABAP
- MBA in Finance: SAP FI-CO
- MBA in Sales: SAP SD
- MBA in HR: SAP HR
Good luck.
