Hi, I have worked with an MNC for 2 years. Suddenly in the month of May 2010, the HR called me and stated that my services are no longer required in the organization and I should resign. When I refused to resign, they threatened me with termination. Then on June 15th, 2010, I received a termination of service letter from the HR citing only the employment contract with me. Prior to this, no communication was given to me regarding performance-related issues or any other concerns.

See, you have two options: one - to keep thinking that you are terminated and there is nothing left in your life, finally ending up in a wine bar. Or you can take this as an opportunity and make a move in your life. All that you have to think is not to repeat your past and start with a new ray of hope. Trust me, God won't come down to let you know what to do next. You have to make the difference. Just think that this job was really not for you, and they didn't deserve someone like you. Trust me, we, as individuals, have so much talent in us that we just cannot understand what and which one to pick up. So, find one and make your mark in the scenario.

First, go to a neat and good nearby bar or hotel. Have three large Johnnie Walker Whisky or Smirnoff Vodka, or any currently available brand. Finish with one or two Marlboro or Rothmans cigarettes. Now your mind will be in good condition for serious thinking about your future. Even after that, if you are unable to find a solution, post your query again on citehr. We will thoroughly investigate the situation and find a suitable solution.
Hi Bharat,
When HR terminates any employee, they have to mention in black & white the reasons for termination. If they see that you have not been performing well, then they need to provide your performance reports and comments on that. Also, most companies give three warnings before final termination. Have a meeting with your HR and ask them to provide the reasons for termination in writing.
Sorry, but I don't think you have to end up in a bar. This is not the end of your life. You can contact me if you require any help.

Hi Madhav,
Thanks for the reply. I have not been given any written notice on my performance. It has been a forced termination from the company's side. I want to know the legal options that I have as going to HR is not going to solve any problem. They have done it in the past as well.
