Dear All,

I have work experience of 7 years and since last 2 years i am working in MNC as Manager . Our co. is korean based co. and our head office is in Korea, whereas we have 3 pp from head office and they r koreans. First is Managing director and then other 2 r team leader of 2 division. Under m division we r only 3 person (Including team leader)

Till date i have been doing good in my work and all m targets r achived. What I want to share is my current situation. I am 6 month preg and as i am in Marketing depratment i had to inform my managment about this. When i informed my immediate boss, he tortured me a lot for almost 15 days and then he was fine with me.

Unfortunatly recently i has complication in my health for which doc advised me bed rest for 15 das for which i took permission from my managment and asked them to allowe me to work from my residence, for which they activate my emails so that i can work from home. I had worked from home for 15 days and during that period we had new joiny in our team. When i was suppose to rejoin , just one day before i was informed that all my work which i was handling was assigned to new joiny.

On my joing day my immediate boss only asked me to hand over all the work to new joiny and tehy words he used was I CAN DO WHTEVER I WISH TO DO IN OFFICE ( which came to my as a surprise) Now my immediate boss dont reply to my good morning and good nights when i reach and leave office, they r ignorning me so much that it becomes difficult for me to sit also. I am loosing my stamina, i feel bad cause i have done no wrong.

I dont know the reason of all this, inspite of me doing good in my work, my head office appreciates my work so much and also to my surprise head office ppl called to ask me about my health and i came to know they r not aware that i have joined back and they were still thinking that i am unwell and on leave.

This is really a tortute to me as i have developed all my customers and inspite of me doing work from home, why all this.

Please advise me, how to deal with this situation.

Regards

Dear Madam,
They have taken another resource for u r job. Anyway u will take maternity leave in coming months. New joiner will take care of your responsibility.
If anyone comments (or) boss ask for resignation (or) reduce the salary, you can feel u did something wrong. Do not worry about situation u r facing. Sometimes this type of hard situations will come, because of Management behavior we may be feel insecure.
U r hard work & experience will help you to overcome the situation.
Please meet your boss. Ask for your job responsibilities.
Regards,
Krishna.

Dear Tanu
After going through your mail at this moment i can only suggest you to have patient and take care of your health and do not take unnecessary pressure on you. I feel that your immediate boss is helpless to replace you since your head office ppl are happy with your performance. Or may be he has recruited another person at your place to handle the day to day jobs which you could not do when you were operating from your home.
Anyway, this is not the end of the world. But do not forget that you are expecting a child and it is your prime responsibility to take care of your health as well as your expecting baby.
So, all the best.

Dear Friends,
Thanks a ton for all ur support and replies as after ur reply i am feeling comfortable.
Good part is that my immediate boss will be leaving India forever in next year April'11 as his 3 years in India will be completed. Our Korean staff is a rotating staff with 3years contract.
But one thing shall i discuss with my MD (Hez Korean too) about all this as when i tried discussing with my immediate boss that why hez taken my assignment......he was not interested in discussion and just asked for my daily report of work i m doing since morning. When i asked him wht work when i have no assignment..............he said whtever u r doing......after his reply I just go thru news sites and update him on market situations as i have no other work. Now i want to ask all of you if i can discuss with my MD about this or just keep silent without any work till i go on maternity leave. ( from sept i m on leave for 6 months).
Thanks once again.

Hello Tanu,
At this stage you hang on till September. Collision course of any kind will be counter-productive. Apply for maternity leave in September. On completion of maternity leave, resign from the job.
However, it is important for you to know the reasons for their change of attitude. Following could be the reasons:
a) that they were not happy with your performance. Instead of telling directly, they are hinting to put in your papers. They have selected some fresher for your job. From their side they also could be waiting for your maternity leave.
b) that they do not wish to give you maternity leave thinking this leave as loss to their company. If you could quite without availing of the maternity leave, the better.
Ok...

Hello Mr. Dinesh,

Thanks for your reply.

1- Regarding performance, My target this year is 200 millin $ out of which i have done 120 Millin $ and we have another 7 months to go to compelte my target. My head office in Korea are happy with my performance and i have mails from them appreciating same.

2- My immediate boss has one point against me that when i was to join this co. i had said that at present i have n o plans for marriage. Whereas, they never asked about my marraige plans as in our head office it is against rules. And wheni was to marray my boss attnede my wedding and never raised thsi issue. After 1 and a half year why he has issue with my marraige part.

3- There is no question of not giving maternit leave as they cant do so. As we follow our head office. Infact our head office has paid maternity leave for 7 months whereas co is giving me only 3 months.......which again i can raise my voice. But i m not doing so.

4- For my division we were less of staff only 2 person were handling all work so not now but we were looking for new staff since last 1 year.

5- My point is ok i will go on leave and company work sud not suffer cause of me so new joiny is taking care of this. But for this they could have discussed with me openly ....new joiny is not aware of any of my work i was handling and i am guiding him in ever manner ....but when i m guiding him why i m not kept in loop of mails of work............i am not allowed for mails reply of discussion. I am avoided for no reason. My gud morning are not replied. This attitude is not tolerable.

Even thou head ofice had allowed me to continue my work from residence even i would have been on maternity leave cause i love my job. Only i had told them i will not do business developmentg till i m leave but will continue with wht i m handling.

I have not clue with whts going on around me. Smtimes i feel like first discussing with my MD and then if no response (as all r korean staff are influenced by each other). Then i will write direct to the head office our CEO against all this as i m the only girl in this branch and they r misusing it.

Please advise.
