Hi Prateek,

I am working on a thesis focusing on the importance of soft skills, training, and education for current and future software engineers in India. I am interested in determining whether technical education alone, without the development of soft skills, can meet the current and future requirements of software services in India.

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with your views and articles related to the Indian software industry on soft skills. You can reach me at prateekcapoor@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Prateek

Hi R. Ramamurthy,

This presentation is indeed an excellent one, though it is far from giving the "how"; it's more about the "what" is needed in the context of leadership for the road ahead. Excellent material to begin a brainstorming session for taking new directions in the area of leadership.

Regards,
Nad

PS: Guys, just right-click on the file and select "SAVE TARGET AS"; that should do it for you. If that doesn't work, you are behind a firewall; contact your IT support.

Guys,

Don't you ever learn to read it right. Read my mail above for the visual attention impaired, here it is again.
PS: Guys, just right-click on the file and select "SAVE TARGET AS"; that should do it for you. If that doesn't work, and you are behind a firewall, contact your IT support.
Now, that means the file on the left-hand side of your screen appears as a link. Follow the instructions or consider taking a course in the basics of computers. It's a shame that some of you work for IT companies. No wonder they say, "Folks who can't do anything... do HR." Just congratulate yourself if you do that correctly and teach others who are still looking for answers.

Dear R. Ramamurthy,

I would be glad to see your PowerPoint presentation on Fast Track to Leadership; however, I couldn't download it. It might be helpful if you could send it directly to my email address: lunajha@gmail.com. I have tried to follow the instructions given by some of you, but unfortunately, I have not been successful.

Regarding the firewall, the only one I have is the Windows firewall, and I am not sure if I should proceed to disable it. It would be greatly appreciated if Spellbinder could send me the PowerPoint presentation if you have it.

I will look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

This seems to be a house divided. The bright and cheery ones insist that those who are able to download this attachment are the clean-smelling, bathed, and shaved variety whose smart intellect and ability to rationally rule the planet is beyond question. Those poor souls who are unable to find an intricate path to a simple operation or vice versa are, if you believe the purely rational ones, worms and germs or children of a lesser god.

Pray, please give the reason why one presentation downloads easily while the other acts like a whimsical mare in an overloaded tonga on a hot Meerut afternoon. I did try all that was suggested with identical results. The next download just happened without a glitch. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Take care,
Ravi Gorowala

This one again failed to open. Why some mails do not open and others do are a mystery to me still. This one does not open; the next one without any changes does. Hope the puzzle has a logical ending to it. Let us try and solve the download conundrum.
