I'm working in a MNC, Gurgaon. Recently I got an offer ltr from a MNC, Kolkata. I'm getting 6.63L and they are offering 8.25L which is 25% hike on CTC but as per their salary break up, they are offering only 5.4% hike on take home and other hike has been shown in Bonous, SA, Gratuity etc.
Please give your valuable suggestion at the earliest.

- Now my basic is Rs. 24885 and they are offering Rs.19900. So is it wiseable to accept the salary with lesser basic then my present?
- Is it possible to make a salary break up withour gratuity and mediclaim? so that I'll get more take home.
- what should be the break up of flexi pay (Rs.33000) to get more tax benifit and more take home?
- Are Bonous and SA taxable?
- What will be the Pros and Cons of accepting this offer?

Hi,
Try to negotiate with the HR. This is quite pathetic coz ultimately it is the take home salary that matters.
If they really need you, they would try to work it out. I dont think you should go in for a lesser basic pay.
Im not an HR, but I have fallen to this trap once and repented, hence Im giving my opinion.

It is not advisable to go for this offer negotiate with the HR.Salary breakups are as per the company policy so if gratuity is the part then HR will surely mention in CTC.You have only one choice ie negotiate&all the best.

look at two components
1. the tax you ultimately pay
2. your take home
if it is good take up the job or be plain and factual with them and ask them how they can help you get the best on these two points. if they cant help just walk out... i believe the rest all are gimmicks

Hi apekshya It you get lesser bsic than th epresent it will afect on your gratuaty, bonus & etc.. so try t negotiate with HR, ithink they will negotiate. thanks regards devendra r chedge

Never accept this offer,b'cos at any part of time, if they don't need you they will cut down your bonus amount & as per your offer letter you will get only your fixed salary as bonus is not a part of salary, it can be paid only once or twice in a year. You should go to HR & ask him/her for the reason of this type of salary structure. In my organization we are using one standard structure for salary. It is performance allowance. In this 25% of the salary is variable & it can be up & down as per his/her performance.

As per my view Basic will affect ur PF, Take Home, Bonus (as also one said).
So, I would suggest not to join....but again take the advice of experts or from a Finance guy.
If anybody from CiteHR would like to advice, please..as this is a general case where everybody is getting trapped.
