Dear Seniors,
Can anyone tell me what the continuity benefits of ESIC are? I have read somewhere that when an employee moves from one company to another, he should inform his new employer that he was covered under ESI in the previous company and update his insurance number. By doing this, the employee can receive continuity benefits.
I have searched extensively but have been unable to find information on the continuity benefits in the case of ESIC. Do these benefits differ from the normal benefits provided by ESI?

I have a small query regarding ESI. Just yesterday, ESI was launched in our area (Madhuranthangam near Chennai). We have around 200 employees who are covered under ESI. ESIC officials announced just a day before that ESIC is going to be applicable to our region. We are trying to register online, and at the stage of completion, the system prompts us to enter the Employee details (IP). Therefore, we need to input the details of all 200 employees into the ESIC portal. After entering the details into the portal:
1. Will the ESIC Code for the employer be generated immediately along with the Employee ESI code?
2. In case the ESIC Code for Employer and Employee is not generated online, how long will it take to generate the code?
3. If the code is generated for the Employer and Employee, should we then submit the documents related to the registration of the Employer?
4. What documents do we need to submit for the Employee after enrolling online?
As this is our first time dealing with ESI, we need to learn more about it.
