Nora,
You can impliment a proper HR policy and procedurs in hospitals also, like other organisation, Concept of holly or charity is already gone fron the society, the managemnt looking for a a good profit from his business, (ie hosptial) so impliment proper HR system as it is a human oriented busness.
If you are yet srted any procedure you can start from the level one that is proper filing to all employees, and set different policies etc.....

Hello,
I also head a hospital in AP and candidly accept that the healthcare sector in the country are Doctors Centred. Keeping the surrogate customer for the patient at the centre itself is alright provided the nurses and others working directly and indirectly working for the patient are also on the vicinity of the doctors. However, this is not so in most of the institutions big corporate chains included.
It would benefit my hospital too if I am also provided the method/approach for adapting the HR policies and processes followed of the other industries to healthcare setting.
Thanks

I repeat what I have mentioned earlier--I head a hospital in AP and note that the HR dimensions are weak in the Healthcare Institutions. In my views it si primarily because the institutions are doctors driven and focused--in this regard certain discipline sit at the higher level of the cast/discipline system. The focus on doctor, the surrogate customer for the patients itself is accepted provided the management doesn't lose the sight of nurse and others involved in the deliver of healthcare.
However, this is not the case in our healthcare delivery institutions--large corporate chains included.
It would benefit me and the support functionaries in my hospital if I am also provided with the approach and methods to adapt and adopt the HR policies and processes followed in other industries.
