Why we have to submit the Birth certificate at the time of Pension claim? PF office had returned the filled forms by asking the Birth certificate why?

The PF authorities might have asked for the birth certificates of your children only. This is to prove the age of your children and only children upto the age of 25 years will be eligible for children pension which is paid after the death of employee pension.

Age proof of member is to be furnished at the time of enroll to EPF. This is for various reasons. 58 years completion, 50 years completion, in between 50 to 58 etc. have their own rolls in pension calculation.
