Hi all,
I am working with a proprietorship firm and currently drawing an average salary of ₹35,000 per month. No salary slip is provided to me, and the payment is through a cheque. So, I am unable to locate the break-up of the salary. Please let me know how I can calculate my CTC if my take-home is ₹35,000 per month.
Regards,

Greetings!
The CTC calculation can be done appropriately only when you know the salary breakup, i.e., as follows:
- Basic: Proportion - ?
- DA: ?
- HRA: ?
- Conveyance: ?
- Medical: ?
- etc.
When you get to know all these, along with the benefits that the company gives you like health insurance or medical coverage, and others, you can figure out the Cost to the company.

Break up of CTC varies from company to company. What I can tell you are the common components of CTC. It may help you a bit:
EARNINGS:
- Basic Wages
- HRA - House Rent Allowance
- RCA/CCA - Rural Compensatory Allowance/City Compensatory Allowance
- DA - Dearness Allowance
- TA - Travel Allowance
- Gratuity - This you will get once you leave the organization after working 5 continuous years. The amount you will get will be 15 days basic of the present salary slab multiplied by the number of working years.
For example:
Present monthly basic = Rs. 20,000/-
Number of years worked = 10 years
Amount of gratuity = 10,000 * 10 = Rs. 100,000/-
(i.e., 15 days' salary * number of years)
DEDUCTIONS:
- PF - Provident Fund
- VPF - Voluntary Provident Fund (if any)
- Accommodation (if the company is providing accommodation)
- Meals
- Advance - advance salary drawn
- Loan - loan from the company
- Etc.

As I am the new one here, I find that many of the questions can be sorted out with the help of the professionals and friends. So, here I also have a query: Please guide me about the career graph for an MBA (HR) fresher. I am not getting opportunities anywhere but still trying and don't want to change the line.
