Dear Ravi,
The minimum wages per month are to be divided by 26 for calculation of per day wages. In this case you are not to give weekly off day with wages as we have divided the wages p m by 26.

Dear Friends,
Here the question is how do we calculate monthly wage if the Notified wage is "DAILY WAGE". I find all advice is with regard to calculation of daily wage from notified monthly wage by dividing the given monthly wage by twenty six.
The catch is that as per law even a daily wager has to be given a paid rest day once in a week and the wage for rest day has to not less than the prescribed or notified"DAILY WAGE" So here the question is how do we calculate monthly wage if the given wage is only "DAILY WAGE" as per the notification and it is silent about the "MONTHLY WAGE"

Dear Friends,
Here the question raised is how do we calculate monthly wage if the prescribed wage as per the Govt. Notification is only"DAILY WAGE".
There is no doubt that in order to calculate "DAILY WAGE" from notified monthly wage, the monthly wage is to be divided by twenty six. But how do we calculate the monthly wage if the Govt. notification gives only "DAILY WAGE" and is totally silent about the monthly wage.
As far as I understand, even a "DAILY WAGER" who works continuously for six days has to be given paid rest day and the payment for the rest day cannot be less than the notified "DAILY WAGE"
In other words, it would mean that a "DAILY wager" will have to be paid for twenty six days that he actually works in a month and for four rest days to which he is entitled as per law in case the Govt notification is silent with regard to monthly wage ie a total for thirty days.

Dear all,

Greetings for the day.

The explanation by Mr. Khola is true. In addition to that, I suggest the formula to calculate daily wage as basic + da/26.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi friends,

Can you clarify the components of minimum wages payable? For example, is it (Basic + DA + HRA)? Additionally, does the employee's portion of EPF and ESIC get included in this calculation? Also, if we offer a basic salary of 6500/- per month, are we liable to pay a bonus or not?
