Hi,
I am Divya, currently in my final semester of my MCA. I just want to know, are there any possibilities of getting into the HR field without an MBA? I mean, is an MBA the only option? Are there any alternative courses offered? Please do let me know at the earliest.

Divya,
Although for you it seems difficult, positions in HR are tight. Companies prefer people with experience of at least 1-2 years, but you can try being a technical recruiter in a BPO/KPO or recruitment firms. It could be better if you have a reference.
All the best, Amrender

Hi Divya,
Yes, you can pursue it through distance learning and simultaneously work in the HR field. In my opinion, the best institute for this is the Institute of Management Technology, Center of Distance Learning (Ghaziabad). You can also search for other universities on Google.
Best,
Shav

Hi,
Several universities now provide a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM. Some of the reputable ones include The Madras University, The Pondicherry Central University, Symbiosis Institute, and IGNOU. You will need to act quickly to submit your applications as most of these institutes have already advertised some time ago.
Good luck!
Regards,
Girish S.

Hi,
If you want to pursue external/distance courses in HR, Mr. Satish has provided you with details on the courses. Alternatively, if you prefer studying on a regular basis, you can opt for an MBA. There is another popular course called MSW (HR), which is a 2-year (4-semester) postgraduate program.

Divya,
You can pursue a one-year diploma course from a good institute. IMT is one of the best for this.
In the current scenario, the value of distance learning is almost negligible; hence, I would not suggest anybody go for it.
If you want work experience in a good industry, please let me know, and I will put in my efforts to get you into HR.
Regards,
Kapil A.

Dear Friend,
A person who wants to enter HR can start by working with a Placement Consultancy as an HR recruiter and then later decide as time progresses. You can then choose to take a short-term course in HRM so that by that time, you will have both experience and qualifications to assist you.
