Hi,
I have worked in Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd for 15 months, and each month seven hundred eighty rupees were deducted for my PF account. It has been almost a year, and I have submitted the PF form, but I have not received my PF money yet. I know my PF number is OR/1120 but I don't know the organization number. Can you suggest what I should do?

Hi Shiv Kumar,
As mentioned by Mr. Anil regarding obtaining the status from the website, it is noted that the information is often not updated or there may be some technical errors. To ensure a secure approach, I suggest reaching out to your previous organization to verify if your PF withdrawal form has been submitted. If it has, kindly request an acknowledgment copy of the same.
I have previously discussed this issue with others on this forum, and it appears that many individuals are encountering similar challenges. The main issue lies in the lack of awareness among individuals about whether their employer has indeed submitted their PF form to the PF department. At times, incorrect information is provided to employees, claiming that the submission has been made when it has not.
If the PF form has been submitted to the PF department, there could still be potential issues that may lead to the form being returned to the employer for clarification. Unfortunately, there are instances where the employer may overlook this or fail to respond promptly.
Delays in receiving the PF amount can stem from various reasons. Therefore, I recommend reaching out to your former employer or the PF department to address this matter promptly.

Hello Mr. TS,
I have been closely examining your responses for the past few days, but I have a slightly different issue. I am employed in a company where there has been no PF (Provident Fund) since its establishment. The company had a poor track record with the PF department in Vizag, leading to a case being formed. Unfortunately, as you may be aware, even PF officials sometimes operate based on bribes. Consequently, the company managed to resolve that issue. However, there are former employees for whom PF deductions were made from their salaries but not deposited into their accounts.
Presently, the company has introduced a peculiar practice with current employees. They are deducting money at a rate of 24% from employees' salaries, essentially deducting the employer's contribution from the employees' pay. The company is not furnishing any detailed payslips or proof, nor are they providing the PF account numbers. Given the past incident, I am apprehensive that the deducted funds may not reach the PF accounts, jeopardizing the benefits I am entitled to.
I seek your advice on the next course of action.

Chandrasekhar.

Dear Mr. Chandrashekhar,
I understand your problem, as I have heard similar concerns from many people. Most ordinary employees or workers are worried about their PF, and many organizations are deceiving both employees and PF authorities.
Firstly, as you mentioned, your employer is deducting 24% from employees' salary. As per general practice, employees' contribution should be 12%, and the employer's contribution should be 13.61%. However, if an employee wishes to contribute more than 12%, the employer can deduct the additional amount, but this should only be done with the employee's request in writing.
If your employer is deducting 24% illegally from employees' salaries, they may also be recovering their contributions from the employees' salaries. They might be misrepresenting the contributions to the PF authority as 12% from employees and 13.61% from the employer. If this is the case, it is a serious offense that could result in significant penalties or other consequences.
To determine whether your employer is depositing PF funds properly, you can obtain the establishment's registration code, visit the local PF office, explain the situation, and request details. The PF office should assist you, and you can also inquire about the PF annual slips of the employees to verify their status. If the PF authority has dispatched the slips but your employees have not received them, you should question your employer. If your employer does not respond to your inquiries or provide the necessary information, you can file a complaint with the PF authority.
I hope this approach helps you receive a satisfactory resolution.

Hello Anil,
First of all, since you are in Bhusan and I am from Odisha too, I hope my suggestion works for you. Go directly to your HR and tell them about this problem. If they say they have submitted the FORM 3A, ask them for a photocopy of it. I don't think any HR will refuse to provide the statement.
Secondly, I am not sure in which year your PF was deducted. This year's PF slip may come later because the PF department has introduced a computerization system. As a result, no organization in Odisha has received their PF slips yet. Feel free to discuss this further.
