Hi HR friends,
Our organisation is into healthcare segment situated in Bangalore and registered under Company's Act. I suppose we need to be registered under Shops & C E Act, 1961 as well. What are the registers to be maintained apart from attendance, visitors book? What are other statutory requirements? As I am new to the service sector, your kind assistance and guidance is highly obliged.
Please respond promptly.
Thank you.
Regards,
AHN

Dear Mr. AHN,Shops & Establishment Act has coming under Labour Acts, You have to take registration from Labour Department (depends on your employee strength, concerned labour officer has issue the Registration Certificate) At the time you should submit Payment Challan, Form I, Article of Memorandum (under Companies Act Registration) and list of employees. This all documents should have to submit your labour officer then they issue the labour licence under shops & establishment ActRegardsSrinivas B

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply contains inaccuracies. The Shops and Establishments Act is separate from the Labour Act and the process described for registration is not entirely correct.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply is incorrect. Under the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, registers like Wage Register, Register of Leave, and Register of Overtime should be maintained. The Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1961, applies to establishments in Karnataka.

  • Hi rajeev,
can you plz tell what is the format of the employees attendance register prescribed under the shops & establishments act.
We plan to replace the manual muster by electronic attendance tracking, what are the headings that we need to capture so that we get an exemption.....
