Hi friends
During an interesting chat with a set of my friends, we had a small argument - whether Event Management falls under Marketing or HR.
Again there was citing of examples where some HR guys were into Event Management etc. etc...
I literally got confused. I request you all to give ur suggestions on this.

hi Raji,
to my knowledge i feel event management lies with HR with regard to running that event like all logistics if it is a event with regard to the marketing in promotion, knowledge and personnels will be from marketing.
HR role will always be a support role. if i am wrong experts from the group can currect me

Hi,
I feel that Event Management comes under Administration/Corporate Services Department. The Marketing team should give them the required inputs to manage the entire show successfully. Infact large companies are now hiring people with experience in event management in Administration department to utilise them in such situations.
However the Budget/Expenses should be part of Marketing or whichever Department requests.
