I have attended many interviews for an HR generalist role. Each company asks different types of questions. Some inquire about grievances and their handling, appraisal methods, calculating attrition and retention rates, market strategies for positions like PM and TL, types of appraisal systems, and various other questions. I have encountered a variety of questions, and despite performing well, I am still searching for a job, feeling frustrated.

Please guide me for the next interview as it is challenging to secure a position in a reputable company due to intense competition. I have over 3 years of experience in recruitment and as an HR generalist. Kindly provide answers to all the questions and notify me of any job openings.

Regards,
Anupuma

Hello Anupama,

First of all, frustration is not the answer to any of the questions you have been asked. Moreover, if you are happy, then where is the place for frustration? Keep this aside and concentrate more on gathering knowledge.

Most companies do ask about your current profile and experiences. Similarly, if you are in a generalist role, you must have encountered general grievances and handled them. The key is to detail how you did so.

The calculation of the attrition rate is very simple:
Attrition rate = Number of resignations / Current manpower * 100

I assure you, if you have internet access, you can find all the answers on this site. All you need to do is search.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Amit Seth.
