Hi Senoirs, Have joined the new company 5 months before. Had a very good relation with my team members & other HR-members as well.

I am in a team of 5 people. But as I am the Junior & youngest in my team, everybody always make fun of me. Most time I didn't said anything but sometimes it hurt me, as they made fun of me in front of everybody which was not bearable. So I stopped talking to them & made the relationship very professional and asked them to speak only if there is some work . No personal talks. I have a very good rappo with my manager and other HR-members. They all like me. But my team members have now started to ignore me. I don't know what to do. I don't have any problem but I dont know Am I right ?

Don't forget I already told them that I dont like this type of attitude but the continue and that's y I did this?

Dear Manish,
this is the very sensitive situation that most all will come across.Here i have a suggestion.
Take the things light and be positive.with in couple of day all ur colleagues will calm down.If u start responding to it they will start throwing stones.
Even if u have good relations with your boss its ur colleagues who will be with u most of the time.if u stop talking with them they will ignore u its shure.be friendly with all.
when u get a chance to express ur feeling>keep smiling and code a very good example which should be touching.
I am shure u can make the situation normal and all will be back as before.

U say u have built on your goodwill with HR team as well.
so y dont u ask ur HR people to counsel ur team members on this.
I feel u should talk to your HR Dept and ask them to counsel ur team members, so that u'll be able to put ur best efforts in ur job.
In case ur HR dept is not able to help u, you can even talk to the most senior person in your own team, so that he can instruct them to treat you as a team member.While discussing, you can put the issue in such a way that this attitude of your team members is diluting ur performance and u r a learner and try to get more professional over such issues.

I can understand you situation, what i would suggest is, talk to them let them know what you go through when they make fun of you, maintain a professional relationship with them, and be nice and always smile.
Do not give lenience to all.

hi manish,
this is the same situation i faced in my office, though they never made fun of me, but they never discuss things with me, never call me for lunch etc. becaue they all r very senior to me...
so i used to remain very depressed, nd professional to them for several months as u do....
but then i realized why i m running away from the situation than facing it... so i started talking to them, i started taking initiatives, i started inviting them for lunch (rather waiting for them to call me)or any other such thing, started joining them for discussions etc....
nd trust me, it really helped...they become friendly with me, and now i m having a good time in my office
so try to face things, rather run away from that

Thanks to all of you.
Will try to build a good profesional relationship with them. But I know it will take time.
I dont know why they dont behave like a HR Person. Always speaks negative about everyone, Show-off and all other things which I hate.
I think as a HR Person you should help others, should not comment on someone and always respect everyone's feelings.
I dont want to escalate the issue. Your words have encouraged me. Wll try my best.

I like to share my thoughts...
Its natural to get hurted when others make fun of us in front of all..
It is same for all.. no exception as Manager or Team member.
So i suggest you to have a one o one discussion to your team members and make them realize how it hurts if they were in that situation.
So Convey the message in a friendly way that you don;t like to made fun in the presence of others....
Hope that will solve the prblem
Also don;t take it to heart any things..
