Hi Friends,
Let us think out of the box for Christmas/New Year celebrations this year.
We have all conducted a Treasure Hunt or Chris Ma/Chris Child activities.. but what else can we do as a part of emplyee engagmenet activities for Christmas and New Year. With just a month left, let us plan something different for our employees.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OUT-OF-THE-BOX IDEAS, PLEASE SHARE.
I am sure that if we all come up with unique ideas, we can surely make a difference in our respective organizations.
Best Regards

Hi Ramya,
First of let me congratulate you on planning the activities a month in advance which will ensure that what ever you do will be well thought out and executed.
Here are a few suggestions and you can tweak it to suit your organizations style, employee strength and budget.
1. Plan out a Christmas carol evening. This might be unique for many who have not experienced it. One way is the simple way of getting in touch with a church youth group or a professional choir who would come and sign a variety of carols. Distributing the wordings of the carols to the employees can get them to sing along.
A more interesting variation which would also work as a team building activity is to get departments to sing some carols. With time on their side it would be for them to find the right resource person to train them and if there are musicians to add the right beat and music too. You can make it into a competitions too.
2. Have a Christmas tree in the premise and employees can decorate it. Then follow it up with gifts for every employee which can be given on Christmas Eve or on New Years eve. You can give budgets to each department to source a variety of gifts one each for their staff. The twist is to ensure that no names are put on any gift and instead have someone (preferably and outsider who does not know any employee) choose a gift and pick a name from a bag which contains all the employees names. Thus no one knows what he/ she is getting.
You can combine the above with the Carol Singing activity.
I am sure you will have a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations with some more novel ideas being sent in by Citehr members.
Best Wishes.

Hi Ramya,
Here are some itneresting ideas:
1. Secret Santa - All the staff members' names are written on peices of paper and put in a box, and each one draws a name (like drawing lots). However, no one is allowed to mention that name of the person they get. And on an assigned day each one buys a gift (limit the value) and palces it under the Company Christmas tree. You can have someone dress as Santa to give away the gifts. Although it is childish, it brings a lot of joy and excitement even to adults. And it is great fun to do.... something everyone will enjoy.
2. on a different level, why not get together as a company and go to spend the day at a children's home or orphanage. After all Christmas is all about giving and all about kids.... and there is nothing more heartwarming than getting together and doing something that brings a smile to a child's face. It is also great CSR and also good for bringing people together as a Company for a common good.
Just some ideas. Hope you find something usefull.
