Hi Gaya
Don't think as you have chosen as wrong job. Ofcourse its quite difficult to work with no guidance for the people who doesn't have any experience.
But you can still take it as challenge and you can prove as you are the right person for the job
First of all you please share your Job Description based on those you will get good responses. If at all you dont have any JD then please discuss with the MD and ask him what to do.

"" but when i joined here GM told me that i should be taking care of all the area here as well, but he is not allowing me to look after it""
The GM is contradicting himself when he says look after the area but not letting you do it.
Seek a meeting with the GM to get clarity. Before that get your self fully informed, up on hotel industry-laws relevant to it from HR angle, shortfalls in manning, security, fire precaution etc and give him a proper power point presentation-strengths,weaknesses and solutions which you feel are appropriate.
Confusion in your roles could create problems for the hotel in its functional side.
Move quickly to clarify and get clarifications on what is expected.
Prepare a JD for yourself which is current and valid for your role in hotel industry and ask for approval.
