Hello Friends,
Yesterday I've attended a HR forum where the above subject matter has come for discussion. Few people shared their views. I would like to know from you that what are the major credentials that are required for a HR to become CEO of the company. I am not aware of any HR who became a CEO. Please let me know if you come across any such cases.

Kiran

Kiran,
CEO should be from the Operations side only as the person from HR lacks the technical/operations background. Companies financial performance is based on how the operations perform. This is my opinion. Let us wait for others opinion on this.

Hey Kiran,
We have been discussing this topic since long and many experts feel that the major reason for HR not being fit for position of CEO is lack of financial nitty gritties, and understanding of other business models which are really important for organisation.
here is the link from this forum, where the similar topic was discussed long back....

You have many companies where HR heads have become CEOs...
Its possible, and there are several examples... Archana's post will help clarify a few more things... Guess all you got to do is Search/Research first :-)

Dear Archna,
I've read Prof.Lakshman's post thoroughly and the interview with Don Mathews was quite satisfactory and very informative.
It has given me a clear understanding of the role & responsibility of a HR who aspires to become a CEO.
Thanks again.

Kiran
