𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 a Subordinate Accepts her Male Superior's Offer to stay in his House as Tenant?
Case-in Brief:-
Nindro’s apprehensions materialized when her HOD gave her a Pink Slip citing Market constraints due to the Pandemic Covid19.informing her that with immediate effect she stood relieved of her Duties and her Employment. Naturally, Ms. Nindro was in utter shock and speechless;
Ms. Nindro was born and brought up in Singapore and had completed her Post-Graduate Studies there and sought and secured her Dream Job simply by virtue of her Merit. Then after 5 years or so, her parents departed for their heavenly abode, leaving behind their only Single unmarried Daughter to fend for herself. On top of her predicament, now this Termination of her Employment, instantaneously;
Relieved from the Workplace immediately, her usual placid nature was no more existent. She frantically posted her Resume with her Photo for a Job back in her ancestral home in India. Post-haste, Video-Interview was held and a Job was Offered with One Months’ Time to Join. She flew back to join Duty in a Small Town.
Meanwhile, she asked her Interviewer who was to be her HOD and direct Superior to help her finalize a suitable Rental Room for her Accommodation.
He, her HOD and direct Superior promptly offered her to stay temporarily in his Two Storey House, close to the Main Road. She accepted his Offer after checking on the Phone and knowing that his wife lived with him with one 6 months old baby. On arrival, she found him at the Small Town Railway Station to receive her and help her with baggage. She was accommodated in a Small size Room with an attached Bathroom and a Balcony which suited her for the time being till she could find an alternate accommodation
Days passed and her Search for Good Rental Room for the Woman eluded her. Meanwhile, she joined her New Employment. He would ask her to accompany him to House-Search as a pillion rider on his Scooty also during Office Hours. Back home, he would invite her to Watch TV with his Family and have Tea and Dinner and while his wife would cook or tend to her Baby, he tried to be cozy & close to her, on different pretexts. Once visiting her Room to check if every Facility was working well, he saw her Photo Album and praised her for wearing Swim Suits. In a few days, his possessive behavior caused her acute anxiety, and agony affecting her Workplace conduct noticed by her Women Colleagues. But there was No Respite for her as his intrusion on her Privacy particularly during late Evening became a Cause for her apprehensions.
Encouraged by her Female-Colleagues who also confided in her about his attempted adventures with Women other than his wife, Ms.Nindro personally met the MD and narrated her plight.
The MD realized he had yet not constituted. an Internal Committee for his Workplace Establishment employing nearly one Hundred Employees comprising largely of Women-Employees; hence he, in consultations with Competent PoSH Enablers, immediately Notified the Constitution of an Internal Committee for the Workplace;

1. What Action-Steps the Employer/ the MD should have taken in this Case?
2. Should there be an Office Order or a Service Rule that No Employee of the Workplace Shall Offer or Accept Rental Accommodation to and from another Employee of the same Workplace, violation of Which shall be deemed an Act of Misconduct for which Disciplinary Action including Punishment shall be imposed
3. Should any Female Subordinate accept an Offer of Staying together in the one and the same House of her Superior, even if Offred temporarily?
