Dear Seniors,
i am working ina japanese company. i wanted to know, can we run factory during national holiday.
if so please let me know procedure for getting approval from concern department.
Any violation ? if we run factory without approval.
Please suggest.

Holidays are regulated by the State's Industrial Establishments (National and Festival) Holidays Act. Therefore, there can be different provisions with regard to employment of workmen on a declared holiday. In general, all states seems to have a consensus with regard to such engagement on a holiday provided a notice is served on the employees with a copy to the Inspector (Asst. Labour Officer/ Labour Officer or such other officer who is the controlling authority under the Act, of the area) at least 24 hours before such engagement. This is a kind of declaration that the persons employed on a holiday will be given wages at double the average rate of wages and a compensatory holiday.
