If your organisation is under the declared area of ESI coverage, ESI alone will hold good and which is Central Act mandatory statutory. Those who are out of coverage limit of ESI i.e. drawing gross salary of Rs. 21,000/- you may extend such medical coverage as welfare measure or a moral boost to its employees.

Hii Vijju,
I would like to inform you that according to my knowledge if employee have another insurance, ESIC is not mandatory, just take the insurance policy like employee compensation policy and policy must be taken upto Rs/-5 lakh.

Dear Kiran Bhatnagar It would be wise that you please check the ESI Benefits and compare the same with any other Insurance policy, you will come to know the difference.

1. Employee on his volition may take any amount of insurance for himself and/or his family, what company has got to do with it? This question is indicating at improper intentions.
2. ESI is a statutory benefit extend to employees through ESI Act. It is mandatory if the employee falls in coverage category by virtue of his salary.

Dear Friends,
Kindly listen to my opinion. my name siva. i'm working on of the corporate company. i'm under 20,000/- i've one doubt about the topics. i have insurance coverage 1-Lakh and my mother 1-Lakh. if any of problem we're going to hospital and cover the under 1-Lakh. If we don't have then we are use this ESI option. But we've the insurance coverage. why they're deduct my "money".
please think more people are have already less salary. they are have lot's of problem in society.
corporate companies already are intelligent. but who's eat the low class people price.
For Ex:
Single person. => 14,000 x 1.76 /100 => 245 Inr.
100000 people => 245 x 1,00,000 => 24500000 (two crore forty five lakh.)
Then why they're cover health insurance policy. guys for your information lot's of insurance companies without working will get and enjoyed innocent people money.
If some people only have meet injury, illness and un-conditions situation.
For Ex: one office man power have 100 people. they are all put 1 Lakh insurance policy. 50 person's only taken medicines and cover 25000/per head = 12,50,000/- only. balance 8,75,000/-
balance money where's going to hell. anyone of him realize at whenever.
Single company have this problem. It means over the india 13,94,819 companies here in March 2018 report.
For my last concern
please avoid to deduct the waste of ESI money in middle class & lower class. If they are don't have insurance coverage is that ok. But they're have the coverage don't do this value point's.
