ESIC provides basic medical coverage to employees. It has provisions to facilitate medical treatment through their hospitals, clinics, and empaneled hospitals. It also has provisions to provide financial help for absences due to medical reasons.
Additionally, it extends insurance facilities to medically disabled personnel who have become disabled due to reasons arising from work, work-related injuries, or injuries sustained on duty.
However, to avail of these facilities, the stipulated procedures need to be followed. This includes timely contributions to ESIC and maintaining all records related to ESIC and the insured person.
